JMA Interns at The Flaming Lips JMA Intern with Gene Simmons of KISS JMA Interns at Lollapalooza 2009
Current Team Charmin | Charmin graduated from the University of Alabama where she majored in Mass Communications and minored in Graphic Design. She was President and founder of her own student organization on campus that specialized in event management. In the summer of 2009, she lived in Los Angeles, CA where she interned for Tricoast Studios in Santa Monica, CA--a movie production company. It was here that she realized movies were not her true calling. She decided to move to Chicago with her sister January 2010, with the hopes of expanding her dream. All she had was two suitcases and her music.... | Amanda | Amanda believes in trying new things whenever possible, whether that means the taco-shot-beer special at Big Star, river-rafting in Montana or checking out the newest band at Cole's. While new music is, of course, the center of her life at the moment, Led Zepplin will have a spot in her heart forever. Amanda grew up in Evanston (E-town!), graduated from DePaul, spent a year traveling after school and is now back in Chicago ready to break into the music scene. | Kendal | Kendal is a recent graduate of Valparaiso University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Public Relations and a second major in Creative Writing. While at Valpo Kendal was active in her PRSSA (Public Relations Student Society of America) chapter where she served as Standards Director, VP of Publicity, and Director of VU's nationally affiliated student agency, SparkPR. Music took its form as a staple in Kendal's life diet when she was forced into piano lessons (we've all been there) at the age of six. Maybe it was the lollipops she was rewarded after every lesson, but something definitely clicked during those formative years. Music has been Kendal's go-to-man ever since. Whether it's playing, listening, discussing, watching, etcetera etcetera, it's music all-day every-day. | Richard | Richard Bilbee is currently a Marketing major with a concentration in Music Business at Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana. Richard has had first hand experience when dealing with business/marketing plans for businesses and artists and has been songwriting for 10 of those years. He has served as House Manager for his university's auditorium for the past year. For the past two years, Richard has written songs/jingles for tv shows for various production companies and hopes to continue this. He also has worked one on one with artists at Digitracks Recording Studio (Fort Wayne, IN) helping them with songwriting (producing). It should also be noted that the sole reason Richard is here today, is because of Blink-182. Richard listens to at least one of their albums per day because he believes they are the kings of melody. In fact, he will gladly debate this topic amongst request. | Tom | Tom Schuba is a lover, not a fighter. His favorite musicians are Marc Bolan and Gram Parsons. His interests include long walks on the beach, the Chicago white sox and Jan and Dean's "Surf City." His dream woman is Grace Kelly. | Katie | Katie is a Chicago native who went to school in Nashville, TN and graduated with a degree in Finance & Economics in December 2008. While in college, she played Division I softball and interned under Dierks Bentley for Rogue Music Group. At Rogue she monitored internet communications and assisted in coordinating the Nashville Music for Heels Charity Event. Her degree landed her on a professional softball team in Europe for eight months where she coached and played for two organizations and learned to speak Spanish. After her return in November of 2009 she worked as a finance consultant. | Maddie | Maddie Guy will be a Junior at Saint Louis University in the fall, where she is studying Advertising, Public Relations, and Marketing. Her love for music began at the ripe age of four when her older brother bought Green Day's "Dookie" and made her listen to it incessantly...before her parents took it away. She spent her past semester studying abroad in Rome where she was able to indulge in Roman culture, including pizza, cappuccinos, pastries, and the Italians' love for Lady Gaga. In her spare time she enjoys attending shows, reading her favorite bands' tweets, eating cupcakes with her best friends, driving down Chicago's Lake Shore Drive, and shopping at American Apparel. | Danielle | Danielle is approaching her senior year at Indiana University studying Communications and minoring in Kinesiology. At school the past 2 years she has been actively involved with the entertainment aspect of Dance Marathon where she is responsible for booking both local and non-local bands to perform at the event. Danielle isn't embarrassed to admit that she loves listening to the Disney Channel on Pandora (who doesn't) along with all types of music, minus heavy metal. The Summer's in Chicago are her favorite time of the year because of all the amazing concerts, festivals and Cubs games. | Ashely | Ashley Moore attended Longwood University in Virginia, graduating in May 2009 with a B.A. Degree in Public Relations. Ashley has previously lived in New York, working for both an indie music and fashion pr firm, and D.C., working for a music venue. Shortly after graduating, Ashley joined Cox Radio, Inc. part-time as a promotion assistant for the new rock alterative and mixed stations. Throwing everything she knows to the wind and wanting to pursue her music career further, she moved to Chicago. | Michael | Mike Boyle is the most approachable person EVER. He enjoys spending time as a dj for 88.3, doing improv with friends and owns chickens! (no joke). | John | Johnny is a new Chicago resident, by way of Indiana, by way of Atlanta. He can be found romping around the city with his half-Chihuahua/half-German Sheppard puppy, Lola Macarana Coughlinsbee. (Don't pet her if you are with kids, she HATES kids). Johnny however loves kids and loves playing and listening to music, whenever he can get a chance. He recently started a production company and loves to spend his time making and editing videos for whoever will give him money to do so. He hopes to be a professional editor, videographer, musician, astronaut, video game tester outer or any combination of the previously mentioned fields. | Katrina | Katrina (Kat) is currently a senior studying communications and graphic design at Edgewood College in Madison, Wisconsin. Kat grew up in a tiny town in Northern Wisconsin and spent a majority of her time outdoors kayaking, biking, and hugging the occasional tree. Growing up in a small town had its limitations and music was an outlet that allowed her to escape. Her passion for music stuck with her through her childhood and increased when she came across an abandoned copy of Alanis Morissette’s Jagged Little Pill when she was eight years old. The CD never left her Walkman and neither did her desire to someday pursue a career in the music industry. | Dayla | Legend tells of a legendary warrior whose networking skills were the stuff of legend... It is said that HER enemies would go blind from over-exposure to pure awesomeness! With a family steeped in musical history, it was just a matter of time before this Chicago native found her way into music business. Dayla's introduction to the music biz was doing promotional work for her father's independent music publishing company. Currently, she spends most of her time learning the newest social networking trends, reading and writing on her blog. When it comes to being Dayla, you can find her at venues supporting local bands or out dancing to Chicago's very own brand of House Music. | Chris | Chris is a senior at Columbia College Chicago studying Music Business. He spends most of his time playing, writing, talking about, listening to, or thinking about music. Chris likes to spend his spare hours outdoors either flying kites or taking a nice stroll. He likes the spring, and is looking forward to living in Chicago and working with JMA this summer. | Logan | Logan just graduated from Bucknell University with a B.A. in Economics/math and will pursue an M.S. in Quantitative Analysis in the fall as she feels analytics will play an important role in the future of the music industry. At Bucknell, Logan co-hosted a radio show and spent her free time writing and recording music. In the past, she performed as a guitarist/bassist and helped manage two bands. Besides her interest in the music industry, Logan loves travel, finding new sounds and frozen yogurt. |
